A new year

It's a few hours to 2005. Let's be optimistic. The new year will be a new start, from wars and disasters. To me, the tsunamis catastrophe was almost unreal and unbelievable. Thousands of people parished within seconds, minutes and hours.

Jiejie was on Phi Phi island when it happened. Thankfully I got to know that she's safe before I got to know about the tsunamis. Jiejie has always been lucky when travelling....narrowly missing an avalanche in Pakistan, skidding off a mountain in Chile while cycling and had to get her forehead stitched up, now narrowly missing a tsunamis in Phi Phi.

Life is so fragile.
