Tony Buzan's speed reading course

Went for a Tony Buzan's speed reading course on Wed. Car battery went dead just as I was about to drive to SIM. EL helped me push the car, so that I could jumpstart the engine. It worked then didn't work again when I wanted to drive off after having breakfast at Adam's Food Centre. He helped me push again to jumpstart the bloody thing. I chose a lot right on top of a bloody hill when I got to SIM so that I don't have to push the car myself. Car didn't start after the course, and it was starting to rain...had to push the damn thing abit then jumped into the car to start the engine! Walaoz....so malu-ating!

Milo seriously needs to retire leow.... Agent messaged me this morning. Said that the car has arrived. Shld be able to collect it in mid-May. Well, anyway, dad helped me change a new battery yesterday so no need to push car leow. Phew!

Anyway, got to the class late...and was pleasantly surprised that the lecturer was none other than Tony Buzan himself! He's having more lectures in Sep....think I'll go sign up for more of his courses. :)

Sprint Biathlon

The sprint biathlon was held last Sunday. Learnt a few things from the race :
1. Never assume that there's no current even though you're swimming in a lagoon - I swam from extreme left to extreme right, crashed into other swimmers and got myself kicked in the process...
2. I really need to work on the speed of my run.

Took 23mins for the swim leg...one of my slowest timing for sprint distance...coach said I need to buck up....alamak....more drills or more mileage?!?!?!?!?!

Took another 34mins for the run leg....need to improve on that too....cos' all those who swam slower than me caught up with me during the run....

Stress!!

Swim class

Sometimes...I feel like the one on the extreme right when swimming.....

EL will be graduating from the beginners' class (again...hehe) and moving on to the intermediate class. Asked coach if I could join the Friday's class as well so that I can get more 'mileage' for my swimming and focus my time on bike and run.
Coach sometimes very strange. Got money don't want to earn. He said he'll talk to me again... ?!?!?!
Anyway, during class today, with half an hour to go, coach said "Ok! Now we start the training proper." Then we were like "WHAT THE ?!!??!?!? ALL THE KICKING DRILLS FOR I-CAN'T-RECALL-HOW-MANY-LAPS-WE-DID DON'T COUNT MEH?!?!?!?" But it was quite remarkable lah...like how we can push ourselves so much during class but so nuah when it comes to training on our own.
Ya...so with the half an hour to go, we did 400m x 1 set, 300m x 1 set, 200m x 1 set, 300m x 2 sets. Don't know how....but we survived and did it.

KL Half Marathon

My first overseas race was really memorable.

First of all, they don't have distance markers throughout the entire route. Gosh! Lucky mine was only half-marathon. Can't imagine how the marathoners kept going!!! I ran for 1 hour 40 mins when I reached this checkpoint thingy, and my watch indicated 12++km but this guy manning the checkpoint said 10km travelled!!! Walaoz!!!! Damn slow loh!!! Then I was like...wah phiang!! Dunno to trust him or trust my watch!! So my watch and footpod so inaccurate ah?!?!?! Bloody hell...at the end of the run, my watch indicated about 21km loh...

2. There's not much of traffic control. There were policemen though. Enough said.

3. Air quality was really bad. The KL tower looked like the bean stalk shrouded in smog...

4. Route was bad. Not only we had to enter, exit, enter and exit expressways, it was ching ming and there were jams along the expressways. We had to run between cars while dodging motorbikes.

5. I felt like LS-ing while running. Such an agony!!! No toilets and also no toiletpaper!!!! Jialat...... Think my face must have turned green.....

Before the run - guessed that was why I LS-ed.

After the run
