In conversation

In my office....

Me: Walaoz! My Triladies photos look quite terrible!

Val: I wanna see! I wanna see! *came over to my desk*

Val: WALAOZ! YOU LOOK LIKE A MAN!

Me: *faint*

SBK upon hearing the commotion, came over to my office to check things out...

Me: No lah...we looking at my ugly photos...Val said that I looked like a man!?!?!?!?!

SBK: I wanna see too! Show me leh!

SBK: Walaoz! Really look like a man!!

Me: *take pen poke myself* Dun wanna live leow!!!!

Here are my 'manly' photos......

Look like man meh?!?!?!?!?!?! TMD!!! Think muz get pink bike with pink helmet and pink tri top!

Suck blood

Walaoz...this D Link wireless router thing is driving me nuts!!

EL uses a Mac, and I use a PC. He has this Mac air port thing which worked perfectly fine until we moved into our new home. Somehow, I can't manage to detect the wireless network. Not sure why... Was contemplating to sign contract with Singnet and get their free, lousy (but works perfectly with their network) modem...but cos' we had a bad experience with both Singtel and Singnet, we decided not to be bonded by their contract... This was what happened...

EL uses Singnet's ADSL plan, so means that we need a phoneline for the modem to work. So I called Singtel to cancel the phoneline at the old place, and change it to the new address. Same thing for the Singnet account... The salesperson said that the technician would be going down to our place to do the installation last Monday between 11am to 2pm.

EL waited at home since morning....but no sound no picture. At 2pm, he received a call from a Singtel guy saying that "the fact that I can call you means that your phoneline is working. Btw, can I pass your contact no. to my wife is who doing some insurance policies?" Needless to say, this guy got blasted by EL lah...

Anyway, when I came home...my laptop couldn't detect the signals but EL's Mac could....and we spent a long time on it but couldn't figure out why. Called Singnet and they said "sorry we don't support customers who don't buy our modems". What the F***!!!! Then dunno how it ended up, the technician who tried to sell insurance called us TWICE - once a woman called us at 10.30pm asking us what is the problem. THE PROBLEM THEN WAS WE WERE CYCLING AND TRYING NOT TO GET KNOCKED DOWN WHILE SCREAMING INTO THE PHONE ON WHY SHE CALL US AT SUCH GODFORSAKEN HOUR!!!! Then at 11pm, another phone call from the technician asking us what was the problem again. WALAOZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOW WE HAVE MANY PROBLEMS!!!!! ONE OF WHICH IS SINGTEL/NET PEOPLE CALLING US IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, scolded him and told him to call back in the morning. He called me in the morning and was very agitated. Almost 'scolding' or complaining to me that EL gave him a hard time. Walaoz!?!?!? What is the world coming to??!?!?! I owe him a living ah!?!?!?!!?

So anyway, that was why we didn't want to get Singnet's contract. Was complaining to SBK at work, he suggested to get a cheapo D-Link router and he said "it works perfectly fine". So hiao lah! I passed by Challenger the other day and went to get one! TMD!!!! Works fine my ass!!!! Took me half a day to set it up and it still doesn't work!!!! I asked SBK what could be the problem...and asked if he has the Singnet's configurations so that I can try to set the connection - and this chap told me ---- "Oh! I use Starhub's cable modem." *faint*

Moral of the story - Mai kay kiang....

Now I spent $100 on the bloody router that doesn't work (we're using another router which we don't have administrator's rights to set password), paid all the bloody connection/transfer fees + installed a telephone line for the bloody no-support-for-Mac-nor-non-Singnet-purchased-modem Singnet account. And nothing works.

Life sucks. Singnet sucks too.

It's all over!

Today....

Swim leg was ok....current was managable...except I was caught between this breast-stroke swimmer and the buoy line. Tried to overtake her.....and then...............she kicked me right in the face!!! WALAOZ!!! I was seeing stars for a moment....luckily she hit my right arm first...and now it's bruised (can you imagine how hard it was?!??! TMD.....)...luckily the bruise wasn't on my face and my goggles didn't crack or something.

Anyway, finally overtook her when she swam further away from me.....what an experience!!! Like what coach says...all the training in the pool won't prepare you enough for the race...especially we don't practise kenna kicked in the pool!!!

Cycling leg was ok too...was cheonging to try to make up for lost time in the sea....managed to maintain 27km/h and above. Hopefully this will get better after I get a roadbike....

Anyway, after the 2nd lap, I was running into the transition area...when I noticed some ladies standing around chatting. Saw Adeline the spinning instructor...she's the fit and fast type...cannot be standing around idling like that mah.... Anyway, what the heck! I changed into my running gear and ran towards the running route when I saw the lane was closed. Siao!! How can anyhow change the route like that?!?!

Then some kind soul told me that the race was stopped cos' of the rain. HAR?!?!?!?!?! I didn't take it too hard lah...cos' Nov got OSIM Corporate Tri mah...hopefully won't rain again lah!! Else very tui one leh!!!! One of the ang mohs who came in afterwards also got a shock when she was told that the race had stopped. She threw her gloves on the floor and was cursing and swearing...

Oh well.....coach said that this kind of thing boh bian.... He said we were lucky that we paid less than $100 to take part. He said he went to NZ for Ironman and they stopped the race due to weather...so his $4k down the drain leow... Anyway, now he retired from the Ironman scene leow...so rather than suffer alone, he decided to get more people to join him in the suffering by coaching....hahaha....actually coach sometimes also quite funny lah....

The organisers decided to let us vent out our frustrations by organising a 5km fun run when the rain stopped. Aiya, might as well run loh... Wah...really quite tiring on the legs sia...haha...I think I have a chance to make it to the headlines if I were to take part in Aviva next year at this fitness level....the bad news one lah....

Sigh...now the race's over leow....a bit lost leh.... Robbin felt the same way too....like no more "Race coming leow!! Muz train!!!!" kind of mentality....think we're all going to grow fat very soon... :D

Good thing I signed up for this race lah...even though I completed the running leg during the fun run...cos' picked up swimming, and trained to run longer distances...

Going to have to train harder leow...

Sea Swim

Getting the hang of swimming in the sea these days. It was actually quite enjoyable last Sunday!! Too bad it was the last lesson for the Triladies swimming lessons. To end off the course, we threw coach into the sea! :D

The race's this coming Sunday! Coming down with a bit of runny nose...hopefully that will clear up together with the sore throat by Sunday!!!

Shape Run 2007

It was my first experience with Shape Run and it was really bad. They ran out of t-shirt sizes and gave crappy reasons to shut up the angry women who queued a long time for their race kit. Anyway, 2007 will be my first and last Shape Run. Screw them!!!
Ah Lian at counter: Sorry we ran out of sizes.
Me: So what sizes do you have?
Ah Lian: I give you M.
Me: *annoyed* You must be kidding! If I want a M, I would have asked for a M instead of a XL.
Ah Lian: Sorry we don't have XL.
Me: *lagi annoyed* If you are just giving away sizes according to what you have, then why ask participants to indicate their choices in the first place?!
Ah Lian: Because Nike gave us the wrong sizes.
Me: *roll eye balls* (Obviously this ah lian here don't have enough brain cells nor interest to do damage control with me) Obviously I can't fit into a M right!!!
Ah Lian: Ok! Then I give you L. *take out a L t-shirt and put it on the counter*
Me: *thinking in my heart* (F*** you bloody organisers!) *grabbed race kit and t-shirt and walked off*
Anyway, if the t-shirt episode wasn't bad enough, there was a bloody long queue for water after the bloody run loh!!!! Turned out that the queue was so long was because you gotta join the freebies (Vitagen and yoghurt) queue to get to the water!! Whichever arsehole think of the excellent idea ought to drown himself/herself in his/her own piss!!!!

Still angry after over a week! Anyway, timing didn't improve after Sheares Bridge Run. Still running at 4km per half hour. Signed up for half-marathon in Dec...haha! Hopefully the "FINISH" sign will still be there by the time I arrive... :D

A new goal in life!

Haven't blogged for a long time cos no broadband at home...

It's going to be the Triladies triathlon in 3 weeks' time! Quite excited about it actually... I've trained hard for it...err...well...for the first few weeks. Been too busy at work to train recently...but still try to make time to go swim a few laps in the small small pool downstairs. Better than nothing...

My swim coach invited me to sign up for the training for OSIM OD and Aviva Half Ironman 2008. Feel quite honoured that he invited me cos I've always been one of the slowest swimmer for the Triladies training. He said cos I am disciplined and serious about training, so got a lot of room to improve and be a better swimmer. Didn't tell him that if I didn't train for his lessons, I would have died from foaming in the mouth in the pool...hehe

Anyway, hopefully things go well and I can make it for the Aviva Half Ironman next year!! :)
