Today in history

26 years ago at 6.30pm (I think it was around this time..), a sweet little girl was borned. That's me. hahaha....

Dear and I didn't go Sentosa in the end. He suggested to ask my friends and go for dinner together. In the end gotta beg and drag Anita to go with us cos' the rest either not free, cannot locate or simply don't want to be the light bulb.

Had dinner at Fishermen's Village and I was swamped by insects the moment we arrived. Finished dinner and fled cos' the itch was killing me.

Dear gave me a necklace for birthday. Told him I don't like wearing accessories....which I really do.

Feeling very drowsy now...continue another day

Back on earth

Dear and I almost had an argument the other day when he said to me "You take things at surface value only....." and I got so pissed off. I didn't say much in retaliation because I know I would say things that I'll regret later and probably lose to him in content-wise anyway.

Anyway, back to earth. Think I shld spend my money on something like taking up part-time studies than change my car. I've been surfing through NUS and NTU's website on MBA programmes. It juz makes me feel like I'm not on my own turf when I look at the curriculum. Argh! I told myself that I can't take the easy way out all the time and go for things in my comfort zone. I've more or less decided on taking up MBA and that shld be it...

This kinds of like makes me shudder a bit...

B6833 Strategy Formulation
The course examines the process of strategy formulation. Both formal and emergent approaches to strategy formulation as well as control issues are discussed. Particular approaches to formal planning covered in detail include environmental scanning and scenario planning.

B6834 Strategy Implementation
This course reviews how strategy is aligned with structure, control and reward systems in organisations. A prominent position is given to organisational learning as a process underlying on-going implementation.

B6835 Competitive Strategy
Pre-requisite:
B6013 Economic Analysis
Participants study how firms allocate resources and make investments to maximize long-term returns in the face of competition. The course reviews aspects of industrial organisation and economic theories of organisation (transaction cost economics and agency theory).

Oh ya. Both NUS and NTU require the GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test). Jialat. I hate tests like these. Will definitely flunk the mathematical part at least. Juz went through some of the sample qns as well. I realised that I haven't used my brain to decipher passages for a long time! Gosh...brain is definitely decaying. Need to work on it.

IMAGINE

Me. In this.

Cooooolllllll..... I like!

My early ticket to heaven

But then again, I prefer the Mazda 3 SP above all. Dark grey would be nice. :D

10 reasons why I shld change a car

1. If I can't change my job, at least I get to change my car.

2. At 2.5 yrs old, Milo has been through 4 accidents and could be structurally weakened. My next accident could be my last one.

3. Milo doesn't consume petrol much but it really sucks (my) blood sometimes.

4. Great Singapore Sale is coming. It is not patriotic not to support the Great Singapore Sale.

5. Dear will have more leg room.

6. The bloody SCs and CISCO will stop directing me to park at some pathetic lots cos' my new car will have a BOOT! This will save my already badly-damaged image of running across the carpark to scan in by 0830hrs every morning by 2 mins.

7. I've decided to disown the cockroaches and spiders (latest to the collection) who have comfortably set up home in Milo.

8. I could save more by giving up my atrocious COE (a bloody $27k)

9. With a new car, I can get V-Kool, thus saving on aircon and subsequently car battery can last longer = more savings.

10. All of the above.

Il Mare

23.05.2007

I wished you had known, and I wished I had the guts to tell you. There's no way to turn back the clock and I wish things didn't turn out this way. We could have resolved many differences then but I chose to keep quiet. I didn't have the courage to. I do apologise for all the hurt that I had caused you and I'm sorry for the both of us.

Birthdays

Dunno why...everytime on the day of my birthday, my family would think that I would be out with my friends, and my friends would want to keep that day free for my family. Then end up I one person, go gym or come home sleep and feel miserable/depressed etc.

Dear made some suggestions for my birthday, which don't seem quite feasible. He suggested that evening we go have dinner with some of my friends. Then I think for a moment, then I thought of ah bit's famous quote "no friends, no tomorrow". Nobody to ask out for dinner man!!

Sigh. Sad. Shld juz go Sentosa with dear then.

Dear : Well, a lot of factors...

Me : Oh.

To infinity and beyond

I'm now PADI Dive Master #487852. Cool....... Just don't ask me to do scuba reviews pls. Scuba reviews are the 20 skills that openwater course divers will undergo in the swimming pool as refresher. I suxx at it cos I don't do them often enough to remember how to demo and do it. So pls, no scuba reviews for me. Thanks.

Dear for the n-th time asked me to wear a skirt today. He say Monday we go shop and buy skirt. He said I look tomboy in my jeans and whatever. HRUMPF!!!! So I told him loh...wait I wear skirt got other people chase after me ahhh....then he said he 100% confident of himself. He never add whether he got confidence in me hor? Hehe....

Status

Dear and I went to visit jiejie at her temple in Upper Bukit Timah the day before I went Tioman. We were a little concerned for her cos' dunno why she turned so religious recently, going to the temple frequently. Thought of just checking out the temple to see how it is like.

Jiejie asked me privately when we were alone if dear and I were together. ERRR....Caught me by surprise. Anyway, now both my sisters know about it...

On the way to being a DM

DM = Divemaster btw...

Juz back from diving trip to Tioman. Out of the 9 dives, I led 7 of them. Finally put the fear of leading dives behind me. It was quite enjoyable, showing and sharing with the others interesting stuff underwater. It was quite a good trip. Saw countless bluespotted stingrays, 1 turtle, pufferfish, porcupinefish, nudibranches and even 1 with the feathery thing on top, moray eel, plenty of batfish and angelfish as well... I was hitting my tank with the rod almost every other minute during the dive at Labas (name of dive site). Too many things to see!

Told dear to pray for me that I can come back in a piece after the trip. Good thing I managed to clear my head of all the fear and managed to get all my navigation underwater right! The company was fun as well...very helpful and nice people. At least they don't sit around and wait for the DMs to get them their tanks or serve them as though we're their maids.

My camera housing flooded during one of the dives, the batteries short-circuited and the alkaline corroded parts of the camera. It was really sian after that. Not only that, I was busy signalling for the boat that I dropped my mask. Fortunately, we detoured back to the same spot and two other divers found it! Hooray! The mask's a gift from Ah Chew last year... :) Anyway, I juz tested out my camera and it's still working! Phew!

Forgot to add

I was on time and dear was late for 20 mins. Said he fell asleep...

Moving on...

Come to think about it. We haven't really moved on. I was rather moody for the past few days, still feeling pissed over some remarks that EL made over dinner.

= pause =

Someone asked me how I addressed him. As a matter of fact, I don't address him by name but thru' smses, we address each other as dear. So I think to induct myself into the role as a girlfriend, I shall address him as dear from now on. At least in this blog.

Dear wanted to meet up this evening. So ok loh, we met up at our regular cafe. I think dear seriously has a problem. To quote Mark, (fyi, Mark Lee refers to Mr Lee Jiann Ann, my squadmate and not that ah beng on TV) either he has a problem with showing off or.... Ok, I forgot what was the 2nd point he made cos' I was like "ya ya ya!!!" when he mentioned the showing off part.

I had to consciously tell myself not to roll my eyes and give the "harrrrr....." and "orhhhhhhhh......" responses. I couldn't make myself look enthusiastic, which was highly recommended by Mark. The least I could do is not to roll my eyes. I guess it does help to use cognitive behavioural therapy on myself. Not so grouchy now...hopefully the effect won't wear off though.

Anyway, Tut messaged and suggested meeting up for coffee. She was clearly surprised why I could be home by 10.30pm on a Friday night. Hmm...actually dear suggested going home at 9.30pm. He insisted that I don't have to send him home (he doesn't drive). I wonder if he's headed towards the pub or someone else is waiting to pick him up.

I wonder why dear is so delusive about himself but when he discloses, it's an eyeball-rolling experience. I think I really need to tell myself not to consider so many things lah...cos' they will only make me unhappy and pissed off with dear. Oh well, that's what I think tonight only lah. Scali tomorrow PMS again then another story altogether.

Five people you meet in heaven

Tut gave me the book and said that she's probably gonna be the first person to meet me in heaven. Haha! Anyway, it's an interesting book. More interestingly, I think it's an interesting way to present how an issue is perceived from 2 very different perspectives. Had this insight when I read my previous entry where I copied and pasted the lyrics to the song "我等你".

It was meant to be a reflection of how I felt then - that I'm only gonna to wait for EL for a period of time before moving on. Some time had passed and then I found out that he was the one who had been waiting. I spoke to PK (not my NUS fren PK) and she gave me very practical advice and explanation of the whole situation. Ok, so I was the wet blanket and brat.

Ok back to "Five people you meet in heaven". Before the resolving the issue, I was quite convinced that he was the spoilt brat, who talks to his girlfriend as though he is talking to his Blangah worker. On hindsight, he has been quite sweet and I was taking him for granted. Sure glad that I realised it earlier!
