1 hurdle crossed

SQA site visit is over. All the painting works, renovation, area cleaning, preparing and putting up posters, buying decor.....all over. As I think back, all these started in May, when my boss started conducting Organisation Excellence (OE) seminars to train our staff, followed by visits from many people - people from HQ, SQA consultants etc and then finally the visit by the SQA assessors themselves. It's all over. *Phew!*

Taking half-day off this morning to rest at home. Wanted to go to the gym but looking at the time and how I'm nuahing here typing.........

Better head off to the gym. IPPT coming soon.

Got extra tix

Watching Cabaret's Sunday matinee. I have an extra tix cos' dear doesn't want to go. After reading yesterday's article, I don't feel like going too. Haa! Anyhow, if anyone of you wants to go, pls sms me k? Showtime is 3pm.

Bit says it's a bit (hmm...can't really remember what she said abt it..) something abt being too adult. Now she makes me feel even more like I'm going to watch some porn musical. Hey the idea of a porn musical is interesting right?

Goodness! It's already 2pm! Time to go! :)

Another funeral song...

Anita says this is her funeral song... I think it's a nice funeral song too. Lyrics' quite crappy but the tune is not bad for a funeral.

JOSH GROBAN

"To Where You Are"

Who can say for certain
Maybe you're still here
I feel you all around me
Your memory's so clear

Deep in the stillness
I can hear you speak
You're still an inspiration
Can it be (?)
That you are mine
Forever love
And you are watching over me from up above

Fly me up to where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile to know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Are you gently sleeping
Here inside my dream
And isn't faith believing
All power can't be seen

As my heart holds you
Just one beat away
I cherish all you gave me everyday
'Cause you are my
Forever love
Watching me from up above

And I believe
That angels breathe
And that love will live on and never leave

Fly me up
To where you are
Beyond the distant star
I wish upon tonight
To see you smile
If only for awhile
To know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

I know you're there
A breath away's not far
To where you are

Maybe

it is the song. Maybe things are not going well. Maybe it's PMS. Maybe it's the time of the night...

If I could hear while lying in my coffin during my funeral, I'd be touched if someone were to dedicate this song to me :

JOSH GROBAN

"You Raise Me Up"

When I am down and, oh my soul, so weary;
When troubles come and my heart burdened be;
Then, I am still and wait here in the silence,
Until you come and sit awhile with me.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains;
You raise me up, to walk on stormy seas;
I am strong, when I am on your shoulders;
You raise me up... To more than I can be.

You raise me up... To more than I can be.

I'm actually early!

Sitting in the Learning Centre of my company now, waiting for a meeting to start. I'm actually not only on-time for a meeting, I'm early!!! This is extremely rare. haha!

To my friends who are reading this, just an explanation why I haven't been hanging out for coffee, gym etc. My company's applying for SQA this year and we are going full-swing into things now cos' the assessment is next week!

What I've been busy with. Just to name a few, coming up with the presentation slides, video 'Tribute to (whatever we call ourselves)', update website (I'm the webmaster, see), prepare the tour itinerary and programme, ensure our customers go through rehearsals, work with the various units (include buying potted plants to grow a garden, going to IKEA/Bras Basah/Plaza Sing to buy decors, paper, air fresheners, [think : renovation, something like that], updating the noticeboards, preparing photo albums, reporting on defects, scolding people.

The above para was juz for SQA. Also working on my own things, like Knowledge Management meetings (ya...I'm the Chairperson too), ranking exercise is next week, so gotta prepare that as well..my In-Service Training programmes, updating records in time for SQA assessment, .....

Wa! Late for meeting already! This meeting is for Assistant System Administraters. Yah, I'm one too.

So you see, my ass is getting fatter and I need a coffee fix soon. Cheers!

No Michellin for me pls. Thank you.

Dad and I went to the tyre shop. The very-friendly owner came and asked us what we want.

Dad : I want XXX x XXX one.

Uncle : Orh! U want made in Japan one?

Dad : One how much?

Uncle : $85 for one. Come I show you. The "pattern" very nice one.

Dad : Orhh...Yokohama so-so lah. Michellin one how much?

Uncle : Orhhh....Michellin one expensive loh....

[Raised my eyebrows]

Dad : Michellin one good. Last time I use Michellin one the car 'run' very good, and no noise. I don't want noisy one. This one noisy or not.

Uncle : You don't want noisy one, then take this one but this one rainy day won't 'stick' to the road so well.

[Raised my eyebrows again. Then I change tyres for what? My current one also don't stick well!]

Dad : Orhh...the 'pattern' like that one har...

Uncle : Or you want Bridgestone? $90 each.

Dad : Expensive a bit nevermind. [Raised my eyebrows one more time] As long as not so noisy and softer.

Uncle : Ok. I do for you. Can wait inside.

And there goes $360. I gian to change rims but sigh....broke leowz. Still need to change remote control and wanna change speakers too. Next time you all sit in my car don't complain this and that ok. Maintaining a car is more expensive than maintaining my dad.

After 45 mins and $360 less in my bank, dad drove out of the workshop.

Dad : Now change tyres already, will consume a bit more petrol. The pick up rate will also be better cos' the tyre 'sticks' to the road better. You see har.....

[He slammed the accelerator and did an e-brake cos' got car in front - and we were along busy Bras Basah Road loh!!!]

Moral of the story : DO NOT EVER comment that my car's pick up rate is slow when my dad is behind the wheel. He will floor the accelerator and e-brake just to prove his point. My petrol....sigh.....my petrol........

In another race

Somehow I don't know why some people like to participate in races. I don't. It's my philosophy in life that I don't like the anxiety of being in a competition cos' when I compete, I only want to win. I can't take it when I lose. That's why I've never supported jiejie during her basketball competitions. I don't watch matches or anything of that sort too. Cos' everytime you watch a match, 1 side will lose. Sheesh. Life sucks.

My life while PMSing

So the Mozart (something something) turned out to be The Marriage of Figaro. I asked dear if he's going to watch. Wanted to give him a surprise (since I told him I didn't want to watch it) by buying a pair of tix. Turned out that he's going ahead without me! Hrumpf!!! And he doesn't want to go to Cabaret with me, which I've already gotten tix for him!

This is not looking good.....specially when your bf chooses Figaro over you. Who on earth is this Figaro in the first place?!

I think I need a toyboy.

Tis' bloody 12.30pm and I'm still nuahing at home. Intention was to go gym at 11am. Decided to nuah a bit and attend the 12pm Body Balance cos' the instructor today is Joel. I like to attend his class leh. Just sitting there and staring at him is therapeutic enough. Then I juz managed to load the bloody page for Orchard's schedule for this week, and it turned out that the instructors for this class today is.........................................KC AND JOEL.

Let me die. Let me just rot and die at home.

KNS. Dad just called and said he'll be free at 1pm. Going to change tyres for Milo. Dunno gonna spend how many hundreds again cos' changing the bloody rims as well. I shld juz wear the tyres out and die in an accident one of these days. I always believe that car accidents (fatal ones) are the most profitable ways to end one's life. Can someone verify?

In this life

OK fine. After some reflection, I was in the wrong too. Still he needn't have raised his voice at me. It doesn't matter that he speaks to his mum and dad in the same tone too, even though they were the people he feared most. I'm not his mum. Nor his dad. I'm his girlfriend. So don't speak to me like I'm a blangah worker too.

I must admit that I have this weak spot that I can't stand having anyone raise their voices at me. I told him so. He can be treated bloody well by his family or workers all his life. I don't grow up being yelled at, and certainly not where I work. I have a temper too.

I know I have complained about his sudden and short outbursts. He said that I take things at surface value, I controlled his freedom (cos' I asked him if he had showered, brushed teeth and reminded him to wash his face with facial cleanser) and raised his voice at me in the cinema when I asked him if he wanted popcorn. I gave him what I think he deserved - my not-so-friendly face and ignored him for the rest of the night (and the next day sometimes) usually.

I'm ruthless when I'm angry. Really. I can walk past the person as though I've never known of his/her existence. It's just me. Can't help it. I've walked off, never looking back at him many times, even when I'm having PMS.

I know he has been tolerant. And I need to remind myself that I ought to be fair to him. That's why I'm blogging it. Mark once told me to write down what were the things that made touched me at the beginning of the relationship because romance will sizzle out eventually and one would forget the sweet things that they have done for each other in the past.

I wanted a guy who is confident of himself, who is independent, who wants me and not need me, who is witty, cracks stupid jokes, who is able to cook, do his own laundry, runs faster, cycles further and does everything better than me. I found him. Oh. Not forgetting, who loves children and dogs too.

I guess in this less-than-perfect world, I'd found the less-than-perfect but wonderful man. Haha! This may sound mushy but when I'm calm and rationale, I accept both his strengths and weaknesses as well. Just try not to raise his voice at me, that will do just fine. :P

And dear, if you do find this blog someday....thank you for tolerating my nonsense when I'm in a foul mood and being the perfect boyfriend in my eyes.

In this life, I was loved by you. (This came from one of Collin Raye's song btw) :)

so mushy!!!!! hahahaha.....

Fat ass

Yup. I think that's me. I haven't been to the gym for at least 2 months. Chen signed me up for the Shape Run somewhere in the middle of this month. Think I will drop dead while running. Either that, or I have to report sick or come up with some crap so that I don't have to run.

Been very busy with work. I haven't managed to clear the emails that accumulated ever since I went on leave, and I'm slapped (almost literally) with projects. SQA is round the corner and I've been spending nights working on presentations etc. Argh!! Supt hasn't been encouraging with her words and she made remarks about other things that I haven't done for my SDO JDs.

How to?!?!?!?!?! I don't have 3 pairs of arms and 2 brains!!!!

Tired. Sick of work. Need a break. Want to post out. Or post myself out also can.

Dear and I watched Cars last night. He talked to me in a pek chek manner when I passed him the popcorn. Wah...that really pissed me off and I didn't talk to him for the rest of the night. Fortunately he apologised. Anyway, I wonder why he can sound so pek chek and then be ok after a while. Then was he genuinely pek chek or what? Aiyo! This is so pek chek for me instead!

Tomorrow I made an appointment for him to meet jiejie. Dunno whether he nervous or anxious or anything. Today never really replied to his email cos' I was so bloody tied down working on the slideshow for SQA. Supt thanked Anita and I for putting in so much effort into the slideshow today. After the youth and tears that were poured in.... If the assessors aren't touched by it, I think all staff officers in R Branch shld just get down on their knees and beg for SQA. [Opps! No offence to my emcee-buddy, Weng Chew]
